I love a good glass of wine to wind down with once in a while. But when it comes to camping and tipples, then we only feel at ease on a campsite.
I don’t think it’s a good idea when you’re wild camping. And, it goes without saying you need to be sensible about drinking too.
So when a new wine subscription was offered to me to trial by Le Petit Ballon, including a giveaway for my readers, I thought it would be a bit of fun to taste them as part of our next camper van adventure (on a campsite of course).
When I signed up for my trial box, it asked me what sort of foods I liked. I’m not sure how it all works out, but I did note I favourite white and rose too.
I’m not that big a fan of red. I find it quite heavy, but it did taste lighter than a regular bottle. Would I pick it up though? Only for cooking.
However, the Sauvignon Blanc was right up my street. I still think it tasted fruity (my other half did not). I’m just so over sickly sweet wines, so this matched me perfectly. What also came in the box was a welcome booklet called The Gazette. It gives you a good insight on what Le Petit Ballon are all about, what goes on behind the scenes and the wine connoisseurs who hand pick them.
There’s also a very useful information sheet about the wine you’ve received, what food pairs well with them, where it comes from and what tastes to expect, such as powerful, complex, spicy fruity, etc.
It definitely seems a great little subscription box if you like sampling new wines picked for your palettes and want to learn more from a taste test experience.
If you want a chance to win 1 month’s wine subscription, please ONLY enter the rafflecopter if you are over 18 and live in England or Wales (sadly this competition excludes Scotland due to promotional activity).
The competition closes Monday, May 29th at midnight.
Good Luck! x
