I have two new completed projects from last week which I created in to a Tutorial for you all to see. I originally bought this cupboard to paint but my fiance took in to have in his entertainment room but after a recently buying another piece, I acquired it back.
I love this little number but didn’t like it’s heavy coat of varnish, losing all its patina. It’s a sturdy piece with a few nicks and its castor wheels. It’s incredibly handy as a movable coffee side table but with some all important storage to hide any TV remotes and other knickknacks for a minimalist home.
I used my old faithful method of sanding, priming, chalk painting, clear waxing and a final Annie Sloan dark waxing for an aged look.
I hope this inspires you as always and if you’ve never painted a piece of furniture before, then I advise to start with cheapies. If you can retain which can be difficult I know, but you will spend hours of your time practising, questioning your techniques until you get your style and gain confidence to create hard wearing pieces.
