For the last 4 years, I've made Christmas food hampers for my family instead of feeling like a mug in the mad last minute queues. There's something about pottering in my kitchen too, cosying up to my pooch whenever I like. After all, he can't go shopping with me, can he?
And this year, with a plum tree full of treats (last year it never produced), I've made a return to this really uncomplicated recipe. A plum liqueur sounds like you'll need a lot of equipment, but you don't. You just need kilner jars or recycled jars with good lids, sugar, plums, vodka, rum and time.
It's not my video, but this is the one I follow and great if you have lots of alcohol like us but rarely drink like us.
Mine are now in jars, in a dark place for a few months and will be shaking once a week to "agitate" it until the sugar has dissolved. Then I'll be sieving and pouring in to presentable jars.
I've been told it's potent too (if that's your thing).
