An easy step by step on how to fit Perfect Fit conservatory blinds easily in double glazed windows with internal beading. And the beauty is, there's no tools needed for drilling and screwing a track and they leave no trace behind if taken down.

It's no secret that Perfect Fit aren't cheap blinds for a conservatory. But, they sure are easy fit conservatory blinds. So much so, they now no longer require any tools whatsoever.
And, they can be fitted in a variety of rooms, such as a living room (if the window is small enough), bathroom, kitchen, etc. Back in 2018, I showed you how to measure conservatory blinds on another page, but for a double glazed loft conversion. This method still applies here.
But it's vital to understand that these conservatory perfect blinds don't fit every type of UPVC double glazed windows. See my image below. The clips need to attach to an internal bead. The top image has external beads on the outside of the house.

Changes to Perfect Fit Blinds for the Conservatory
Now, I just wanted to update you on the changes to made to measure Perfect Fit blinds since I last installed them in 2018. I've ordered these shades from Swift Direct Blinds and a few weeks ago, I bought some in my Blinds2Go review, along with some double roller blinds.
Anyway, I now know that these UK blinds are all manufactured in Ireland, hence they have a slightly longer delivery time. I also believe, they all come from the same factory.
And with this in mind, I've noticed that you used to have to add screws in yourself. They've completely ditched these now to make them more like clip in conservatory blinds, requiring no tools.

Comparison of companies selling Perfect Fit conservatory blinds?
- Blinds2Go - you are required to clip on the corner cover brackets and not screw on (I don't agree with how easily they come off) and attach the pull-down lever yourself before hanging.
- Swift Direct Blinds - although marginally dearer, the corner covers arrived screwed on already and you simply push everything together and attach blinds for conservatories to your window frame. *They also offer a sizesure fit paid extra for insurance, whereas Blinds2Go don't.
Are Conservatory Blinds Expensive?
Our conservatory blinds cost was about £1300 as we needed a lot of items in our basket. Are these conservatory blinds worth it? I wholeheartedly think so. Note: I bought the cheapest 25mm Venetian blinds in white gloss.
I see this as a premium price as I paid more for blinds that are much easier to fit. Plus, when you've had a new conservatory windows fitted, I don't like drilling holes into them framework if I can avoid it.
But, although they're quite pricey, I still feel they're do it yourself conservatory blinds as ordering from a company who does everything for you will cost more. But the onus will be on them if they measure your conservatory windows incorrectly, which can be peace of mind.
Other Types of Conservatory Blinds in Perfect Fit?
I much prefer made to measure conservatory venetian blinds because they offer sunlight and privacy, depending on the angle. These certainly aren't conservatory blackout blinds, but in a room like this, I want it like a sun room.
Also, a conservatory extension adds even more privacy from the other windows on the wall of the house. But there are other types available, such as:
- Perfect Fit conservatory roller blinds
- Pleated conservatory blinds
- Perfect Fit Day and Night Blinds (new to Blinds Direct)
- Conservatory aluminium Venetian blinds (which are easy to clean in my opinion)
- Perfect Fit Wooden conservatory blinds
Which conservatory blinds are best is completely a matter of opinion and your needs. And that's why they're also available in a huge range of colours and often, you can request a free sample before making a purchase. But, unfortunately, I haven't come across them in the way of vertical blinds, roman blinds or electric conservatory blinds.
Do Conservatory Blinds Reduce Heat?
I personally think any kind of diffusion when putting up blinds in a conservatory will reduce heat. Particularly blackout blinds, such as when I did DIY blackout conservatory roof blinds.
But I've never got scientific about it with a thermometer. Especially as each day changes. However, these venetian blinds are more for combined privacy and eliminating direct sunlight.

How Do Conservatory Blinds Fit?
Now, I'm going to show you how these easy fit conservatory blinds really are a doddle to fit! That is, apart from one issue, which I'll talk about shortly.
First, you'll need to lay your perfect fit conservatory blinds lay everything down on a clean, flat surface as above. *Or even better, a flat surface with a blanket so you don't scratch or scuff the front of the blinds.

Pushing Your Conservatory Blind Together
Now push your fitted conservatory blinds together as above. Although when you've got about 30 of these to build, you'll soon find out gloves help. Or a spare pair of hands. I found these ones to be particularly painful to push together.
Also, these blinds for conservatories already came with the corner cover screwed on from the back. And another tip: avoid trapping the thread and blinds in the corners which did happen a couple of times.
*If you've ordered from Blinds2Go instead:
My previous ones came without screws last month. Apparently, they no longer come with them, going against their installation guide and I was expected to clip the corner cover on and that's it.
However, they easily come off if knocked as I found while trying to fit, so I insisted they sent me some once I'd run out of my own.

Linking the Spring Together
Once your blinds have been built, it's time to link the spring and hook together.
You may need to pull quite a bit here. It did feel odd, like I was going to break it, but had no issues. It's this mechanism that will allow you to pull open your blind later and it stays open.
*However, one blind from an order of about 30, came without the gold slip knot attached, so I do need to call them to sort it out. There's no point in investing in conservatory blinds that cost a lot when they don't function properly. I'll keep you updated on how I get on shortly!

Fitting Your Conservatory Window Blinds
Once you've put your easifit conservatory blinds together, it's time to prep the window.
The manual suggests holding a credit card in the corner and pushing a clip in, but sometimes they can be a squeeze. So this is my favourite method.
I hold the square blind to the window and mark with pencil on the frame where the oblong slots fall. Note, these taller blinds for conservatories usually come with 3 slots either side, but most come with just 2.

Then, line up the easifit blinds' clips and push into the internal beading.
Too stiff?
Note, you might find brand new double glazing windows are stiff. If they are, I just lubricate them with hand wash or washing up liquid.
Do Your Blinds Have a Gap Between the Frame and the Blind?
Just a quick point to make and that is, while buying some for my kitchen window, I later realised I'd measured the bracket depth wrong. I'd ordered brackets that were too big as I had a slight visible gap that I wasn't happy with.
If this happens to you too, it's an easy fix. First, try calling the blind company. Blinds2Go kindly sent me some smaller ones a few days later and they then fitted flat against the window. *They may have sent for free as goodwill as part of my blind was broken.
But, if they don't oblige, you can buy blind replacement brackets in a quantity of 4 for about £4.50. They come in sizes, 18mm, 20mm, 24mm and 30mm. Then, why not sell on the ones you have?

How Are Conservatory Blinds Fitted in a Window?
Once all of your clips are slotted in, then it's a matter of lining up the perfect fit conservatory blinds' oblong holes.
How Long Does it Take?
My husband and I got into a rhythm. By the time he unpackaged one of our Perfect Fit Venetian blinds one, I'd already hung a blind. So now there's no screws required, it takes about 10 minutes per blind.
Also, you can easily fit them alone as I did.

How Do Conservatory Blinds Work?
These conservatory blinds in perfect fit also come with two controllers. One, is a wand, which you attach at the top and twist to angle the Venetian blinds.
Note, I need to glue some of these as they have come out of their top cap before they're hooked on. I know that won't be difficult with a glue gun.
And to fully open, they have a lever at the bottom, so you can pull up or down to expose the window. This is a new feature as the older ones used to come with a side thread pully to open and close since 2018.
Blinds2Go customers: You'll need to clip this on manually, which is quite stiff
Swift Blinds Direct customers: This comes already attached

How to Remove Conservatory Blinds
If you want to remove your made to measure blinds, it's just as easy to reverse the work you did. Just push from one side and remove.
Can I Buy Blinds for Conservatory Doors?
Yes, for the first time, I was able to order blinds for our double conservatory door space. The reason I love these so much is, Perfect Fit Blinds don't get in the way of the handles. You can open all doors and windows as you would without them swaying everywhere.
Note, however, I must stress, there is a size limit when ordering. For example, I tried ordering some for very large windows in our house and they don't sell them. I personally believe, it is because they'd be very difficult to work with when building and installing.
For example, the Blinds2Go Perfect Fit Blinds we ordered for our kitchen arrived with a broken corner. But they were able to send a replacement part as these are modular blinds.

If you're looking for conservatory roof blinds, then I do have a DIY conservatory blinds solution as shared from our previous house.
I also fitted vertical conservatory blinds here, where I altered them without sewing for a lean to conservatory.
Another you might find useful is how I needed was install bay window blinds and the time I recycled a second hand roller blind and cut it down to fit while also replacing the fabric.
Also, if you're looking for the cheapest conservatory blinds, you may be able to get away with ordering some on Amazon. However, their cheap easy fit conservatory blinds require hanging on top of the opening and don't work with every UPVC window and door.
You can also follow along with my previous 2018 perfect fit blinds video, but ignore the screws, as they've since been updated.

This is like magic! Do you think the perfect fit might work in an angled bay window and how is the heat retention? The front of the bay is the coldest part of my house so I've also hidden it behind long thick curtains for years...I'm doing double roller blinds upstairs so changing the bay to suit 😁.

Hi, I can't see why not, providing the UPVC blinds are in sections on your bay window. I would ring the company up who you decide to order from and ask if you can email a picture. At least if they advise wrong, you can demand a refund 🙂

So I'm all done 😂. Pleased with the result, as apart from a mistake with one clip depth, it all fit! Looks beautiful too. Couldn't work out how to upload a pic.
Thank you for your pointers!
