So almost two months after buying our Mercedes Vito, we now have windows! I know I said I plan on doing a lot myself, but cutting holes out and possibly messing things up was not a risk I was willing to take.
I don't mind the idea of carpeting, furnishings and insulation all on my own though but firstly we need to plan where things are going. But one job at a time, eh?
The biggest problem I find when hiring people though, is not knowing who does a good job or not. And although I do always check reviews first, I do wonder whether they're fake. So I thought I'd share with your our experience.
It cost £635 to have a rear and side fixed windows and a driver's side window that opens. Instantly, it's made a massive improvement while driving (particularly reversing in car parks).
They're tinted privacy windows too - exactly what we wanted and all done on our own drive by Chris at Van Bond. And although it's only been two days, we haven't regretted it. We just need to buy a rear view mirror now then think about the electrics, heating and captain seats! Also, I'm bloody tempted to pick up a rock and roll bed on eBay. I laid on one the other week and it was surprisingly comfy!
