In this post, I talk about how our dog friendly wedding cost £375. This price also included the interview appointment each and a £30 admin fee for changing our wedding date.

We're not great believers of spending thousands on just one day. We sweat over our day jobs, feeling money's hard earnt' easy spent. And maybe to my YouTube subscribers, this may not be a surprise.
I don't know what the average cost is for an entire wedding, but whatever it is, it could be used to offset our mortgage. Also, we didn't feel we needed guest, flowers, a satin white dress I'll never wear again and planning months on end.
I knew that if I started planning, I'd probably turn in to a perfectionist and set myself up to be disappointed if even the smallest thing went wrong. The only thing we wanted was a dog friendly wedding and with our parents as witnesses.

LOOKING FOR DOG FRIENDLY WEDDINGS
But, despite having very small demands, the wedding industry must be making a fortune. Why? Because I got frustrating quotes that were all over £1000 with a compulsory package deal. Such as food for 50 guest. And that didn't include the registry fees.
The problem is, when you search for a "dog friendly wedding", the ones that come up in the search results aren't necessarily what you want to pay. They were just highly ranked pages due to Google's SEO system. However, they're likely to be a trustworthy place as it's a trustworthy site according to Google.
So this is EXACTLY why I'm sharing my experience on the net. To hopefully help others find a more affordable valuable dog friendly wedding. And they can be low key, if that's what you want. I also want to change the wedding industry a little bit, because why is it, whenever you say something is for a wedding, the fees triple?

A DOG FRIENDY WEDDINGS DOESN'T HAVE TO BE EXPENSIVE
After about a month of on and off enquiring about dog friendly wedding prices, I'd almost given up. I then made my last attempt to my local registry office.
I was surprised when they didn't give me a flat out no. It was a yes, but on these certain conditions:
- someone must clean up after the dog
- we put a note on our request form so they could pick a registrar who would be comfortable with dogs
We also had no extra fees and have since been asked for a photo to feature in their newsletter. They informed me that they didn't have dogs often and I'm hoping they wanted to encourage them more. I just hope dog friendly weddings will be more the norm.

OUR DOG AS THE RING BEARER
One of my proudest things Hans' handy attire were the dog harness ring pouches I made. It's a particularly practical design that than we used while on his general walkies.
As for the rest of Hans' outifit, well, I think a doggy tux would've got lost in his already black and white fur. So we dressed him with a dickie bow tie instead.
Oh, and a trip to the dog groomers for some pampering and clipping. After all, it was going to be part of his day too!

DOG FRIENDLY WEDDING ON A BUDGET
The price of our dog friendly wedding excluding the outfits cost £270 plus a £70 appointment fee for both of us. Although, note that the prices varied depending on the day. However, we did decide to change our date once, incurring a £30 admin fee.
For other expenses, we didn't have a cake, flowers or a photographer. I paid a local wedding make up artist £80 for my hair and make up. (I supplied hair jewellery off Amazon). Also, my nails were £20 at my local salon.
For our wedding "breakfast", we all went to a bistro pub in the next village, costing £100 for all of us, including drinks. And for photos and filming, I set up three cameras myself in the room and edited my own footage and photos. *Note, these are just rough copies of the pics.
But when it came to our honeymoon night, we went for a Pen Y Dyffryn country hotel, also dog friendly. It's a luxury hotel with a spa bath in Oswestry and fine dining with 2 AA rosettes.
We then followed with a holiday we've always wanted to try, which was a week on a narrowboat hire experience.
