Since we were about to cough up the dough for our new camper van, I had the tedious job of finding van insurance. Filling form in after form on comparison sites nearly had me asleep in my coffee as I continually hunted for the best price. So, how would Martin's Money Saving expert do it? I asked.
Well, I found a video on his site confirming I was doing the right thing, although some must have sold my contact details as my phone's been constantly ring. Bloomin' annoying it was. But I did learn this: sign up to TopCashBack and continue your normal shopping through their site to earn money back. And guess what? It worked!
My Experience
Signing up was ridiculously quick. So while I'd been looking for insurance quotes, I searched for the insurance companies and found that they were doing cashback.
I really don't know how it's funded to pay customers, but after finding the best price on MoneySupermarket.com (another Martin tip which trumped Confused.com), I shopped through TopCashBack and got 47 quid back. That's money I needed to pay anyway, so anything back was a bonus. Hooray!
You can even shop with much smaller transactions, like Tesco, eBay, even Domino's! But obviously it's going to be a much much smaller benefit.
So next time you think of shopping online, take a look using my Refer a Friend link below. I know I'm a bit late in getting in to this, but right now with many DIY projects and Christmas coming, I'm now going to shop completely differently!
