Fitting B&Q Laminate in the Conservatory

Fitting B&Q Laminate in the Conservatory

On Friday, my father in law came in the nick of time to tell me after I'd fitted my 3rd row of laminate that I was laying it very wastefully (as below).  Apparently if you're aiming for perfect matching lines on each row, you probably won't get the coverage it says on the box.  And due to the amount of leaks we've had this year in our living room (already installed by our builder), we'd had to take them up twice and repair with the other packs we'd bought for the conservatory.

So, with some calculations their end (my Maths is crap), we were cutting it fine whether we'd cover the area and our Napoli Oak was now discontinued at B&Q.

But we've also had a leaky washing machine too in the conservatory-come-utility so my fiance thought we'd cover part of the floor with laminate and the washing machine side with a hard wearing carpet or similar.  And to get our straight lines, we worked to two-and-a-half laminate strips.

This is how it's looking so far; we just need to order a 3 metre laminate to carpet strip online as it's not standard (note the room is 6m x 3m).

In the next blog post, I need to tell you about how we repaired the washing machine damage which is why there's units on the left of this pic for now.
