50 scrap wood projects to help organise your home

If you're anything like, I'm always inundated with offcuts from my DIY wood projects. And they soon pile up, because I never know when I might need them or not.

And to help you from throwing something away you might regret, I've put together a list of ideas for scrap wood projects. Particularly for things that can help you get organised around your home.

These are either free, low cost or upcycled items. And all of them are simple wood projects for beginners to intermediate woodworkers.

Here's Our List of Scrap Wood Projects!

50 Scrap Wood Projects To Improve Your Home

With woodworking, we’re always left with offcuts you might assume are useless. So here’s a list of 50 scrap wood projects where you can put them to good use and improve your home.

DIY TV Stand Scrap Wood Project

If you have lots of offcuts of structural timber and you need a stand for your TV, this is a great scrap wood project that can be made in less than 2 hours!

It's super quick, using a mitre saw and pocket hole jig and if you want to go an extra mile, why not add a top?

DIY Coat Hook & Dog Leash Holder With Font

Using some old pine shelves that had seen better day, you can easily turn them into a personalised coat rack and dog lead holder.

You can router out a word or glue some lettering on, then paint and add your hooks!

Desk Monitor Stand With Shelf DIY

Another project with scrap wood is DIY desk monitor. This is perfect if your laptop or computer screen isn't quite at eye level and you can add shelves too.

This was made using offcuts of plywood from an old project.

Faux Marble Desk With Hairpin Legs

When it comes to scraps of wood, most people will have some after fitting a laminate kitchen counter.

Here you can see an unwanted faux marble worktop offcut turned into a very easy desk with suspended drawers using an IKEA hack.

DIY Countertop Kitchen Tea Towel Ladder

What about this cool wood shop project? It's a very useful kitchen counter tea towel using some strips of wood and dowel joinery.

There's no screwing or mounting needed and anyone can make it! BUT, make sure you know where your scrap wood is form and whether it's safe to use.

    DIY Kitchen Recycling Bins Cupboard

I absolutely LOVE this DIY kitchen recycling bins cupboard, purely made from scrap wood. It's hashed together with old, unwanted pine shelves, random plywood offcuts and old kitchen end panels.

It's designed with a hinged lid to hold 3 recycling bins and a drop down drawer type shelf. AND it declutters the workshop, shed or garage!

    DIY Wooden Maple Leaf Trivet
